Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

PETDEALS is a service operated by InKind Media Ltd (“PETDEALS”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal information, how PETDEALS uses cookies and similar technologies, and the terms that apply when you use the service.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use PETDEALS, we may collect:

  • your name and email address when you subscribe to deal notifications;
  • the products, animal categories and sub-categories you choose to watch;
  • your selected minimum-saving threshold and notification preferences;
  • your organisation or cause page slug where a branded PETDEALS page is used;
  • Facebook Page connection information when you enable AutoPost;
  • technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request logs and timestamps; and
  • website usage information where analytics tools are enabled.

We do not collect or store payment-card details through PETDEALS.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information only where necessary to:

  • provide the PETDEALS service and its requested features;
  • send product alerts and daily deal digests you have chosen to receive;
  • save and apply your deal preferences;
  • connect to and publish authorised content on a Facebook Page;
  • maintain security, diagnose faults and prevent misuse;
  • meet legal, regulatory and contractual obligations; and
  • improve the reliability and usability of PETDEALS.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We may also process information where it is necessary to provide a service you requested, to comply with law, or for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting PETDEALS, provided those interests do not override your rights.

3. Product and deal notifications

When you subscribe to PETDEALS notifications, we store the details needed to provide the alert you requested. Product watches may generate an email when a qualifying price change is recorded. Category and sub-category watches are grouped into a daily digest based on your selected animal, optional sub-category and minimum-saving threshold.

Every notification email includes links that allow you to manage that notification or unsubscribe. Increasing your minimum-saving threshold can reduce the number of qualifying deals without cancelling the notification entirely.

4. Facebook AutoPost

Facebook AutoPost is an optional administration feature for organisations with a PETDEALS page. If an authorised person connects a Facebook Page, we may store:

  • the Facebook Page ID and Page name;
  • access tokens supplied through Meta’s authorisation process;
  • the selected animal categories and minimum-saving preference;
  • connection status and connection timestamps; and
  • technical publishing information, such as the most recently posted product, Facebook post ID and deletion time.

We use this information solely to operate the authorised AutoPost connection, publish the agreed PETDEALS content and remove automated posts. We do not use AutoPost to read private messages or publish to a personal Facebook profile.

The person connecting a Page confirms that they are authorised to grant publishing access on behalf of that Page or organisation.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with trusted service providers where this is necessary to operate PETDEALS, including:

  • Brevo, for delivery of requested transactional emails;
  • Meta, where you choose to connect and use Facebook AutoPost;
  • hosting, security and infrastructure providers that support the service; and
  • professional advisers, regulators or law-enforcement bodies where disclosure is required by law.

These providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where applicable, we use recognised safeguards for international transfers.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

PETDEALS may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep the service secure, remember preferences, maintain sessions and improve performance. Strictly necessary technologies may be used without optional consent because they are required to provide the service.

Where non-essential analytics, advertising or similar technologies are used, PETDEALS will provide appropriate information and request consent where required. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking necessary technologies may affect how the service works.

7. Data retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to meet legal obligations or to resolve disputes. Notification records may be retained while the notification remains active. Facebook connection data is removed when the connection is deleted, subject to short-lived backups and records required for security or legal purposes.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to delete personal information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent; and
  • receive information in a portable format where applicable.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another relevant data-protection authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

9. Facebook and PETDEALS data deletion

To stop a notification, use the unsubscribe link in the relevant email. To remove a Facebook AutoPost connection, visit your organisation’s hidden AutoPost page:

Select Disconnect. This will stop future AutoPost publishing and remove the stored active Facebook connection and access token from PETDEALS.

If you cannot access the AutoPost page, email support@supportandshop.org with your organisation name and Facebook Page name. We will verify the request and remove the relevant connection data.

10. Affiliate disclosure and product information

PETDEALS contains affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We may also participate in other affiliate programmes. A qualifying purchase may generate income at no additional cost to the purchaser.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date and time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on the relevant Amazon website at the time of purchase will apply. The price shown may have changed since PETDEALS last refreshed the product information, and the seller’s price at checkout governs the transaction.

11. Terms of use

Deal information

PETDEALS provides product and deal information for general information and convenience. We do not guarantee that a price, saving, promotion, product or stock level will remain available. Always check the final product, seller, price, delivery terms and availability before buying.

Third-party purchases

Purchases are completed with third-party retailers, not with PETDEALS or InKind Media Ltd. The retailer’s terms, returns policy, warranties and customer-service arrangements apply to the purchase.

Automated posts

Facebook AutoPost publishes standardised deal content using the preferences selected by the connected organisation. The organisation is responsible for ensuring it has authority to connect the Page and may disconnect the service at any time. We may pause, remove or decline to publish content where a deal cannot be verified or where necessary for compliance, security or service reliability.

Availability of PETDEALS

We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of PETDEALS. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability, although we will take reasonable steps to maintain the service.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse PETDEALS, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, submit false information, or use the service in a way that violates law or third-party rights.

Changes

We may update this document as PETDEALS develops or legal requirements change. The current version and revision date will always be available at this URL.
